We have had two professional valuations, copies of which will be provided to prospective buyers. One is for ‘£300,000 to £350,000’ and the other is for ‘£295,000 to £325,000’. These valuations are for the property only.
We have decided to sell for £289,000, and this price includes everything: good quality furniture, fixtures, fittings, carpets, curtains, soft furnishings, even original paintings, and a pretty extensive library; even games, videos and DVD’s. (Remember, the cottage has, for ten years, attained five-star status in the WTB rankings, a fairly rare achievement; this speaks for the underlying quality of content.)
We realise that there
are probably going to be differing circumstances associated with prospective
buyers. Some may see it as a possible home in which they will live. Others
may decide that it would be a perfect second, holiday retreat, while it
may appeal to someone who would like to take it over as a highly successful
holiday cottage being let to guests throughout the year, virtually ready
to go. Consequently, it is a possibility that some interested parties
may not want or need some – or even any – of the contents,
which is fine; everything will belong to them to sell, auction or donate
as they wish. They are all included, freely, in the asking price.
